Utah Walk Month
October 1 – 31 is Utah Walk Month
Join Move Utah, Zero Fatalities and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) in raising awareness of pedestrian safety and encouraging folks to walk more during the month of October.
On average, 42 lives are lost each year in auto-pedestrian crashes in Utah, which accounts for approximately 15 percent of all fatalities on Utah roads. Even a single pedestrian fatality is too many for Utah.
By walking more in October, you’ll improve your personal health, while also increasing awareness of pedestrian safety across Utah.
Pedestrian safety is up to everyone. Be alert when you’re driving and be seen when you are a pedestrian. If we can share the road, we can reach our goal of Zero Fatalities.
